Pris is portrayed as a more humane android In Phillip K. Dick’s novel, “Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep” through different facets of the word “humanity”. Pris escaped from Mars and found Isadore, who she used to stay alive through manipulation. This is what makes her appear humane through her rational desires, emotions, and drive to survive. Rachael is a test android by the Rosen family to acquire data and use it to help evolve the future of androids in nexus-6 and nexus-7. When she slept with Rick, Rachael speaks to him about her life span and shows an understanding of her short life which can’t be extended due to a lack of technology. During this conversation, Rachael shows her weaker will to live through acceptance of her situation where she lives her life out which leads her into more trouble, unlike Pris who uses her situation to hide and survive in order to live every second possible. On top of her weaker will to live, Rachael has an irrational desire that is largely irritational because it isn't in her control. She desires to decommission bounty hunters targeting androids by sleeping with them in hopes that they would see the value of androids and their similarities to humans. Made simply, she is relying on emotions that she can't comprehend herself. This desire is considered irrational because it isn't in her control, it is in the control of the bounty hunters and their emotions. She could hypothetically do the same thing to thousands of people and get different results because it's not dependent on her, but rather on the bounty hunter which makes this irrational. Having a rational desire shows one's humanity because it shows how one can attempt to reach their goals for a set amount of time like Pris reaching the end of her time when she dies and her desire being fulfilled at the point of her death where she cannot hide anymore, unlike Rachael’s desire which will be fulfilled long after her time has ended when bounty hunters stop hunting androids which also goes to show how little control Rachael has over her own goal making it seem even more irrational. As well as rational desires and a will to live, Rachael contrasts with Pris a lot with her emotions shown strongly on page 226, ““I saw her very clearly,” Iran said. “Barbour was still up here fooling around; he came down to get me and we called the police, but by then
