The Loses of Young Man Life Do The Right Thing is a film that is written to demonstrate the racial differences that existed in the society. The setting of the film is a black neighbourhood where a pizzeria is owned by an Italian American man (Sal). Further, the neighborhood has a Korean grocery. Spike Lee makes his thoughts about racial between different cultures to be well known using various characters and he also proves by the end of the movie that the resistance for the ones that have more power. Various are also used to illustrate this racial with a good example being the killing of Radio Raheem and the burning down of the pizzeria. Radio and Buggin out and Smily enter the Pizzeria. While inside the Pizzeria, Radio does not turn off his radio. The result of this is that Sal decides to respond by destroying Raheem’s boom box brutally. Sal uses his bat, and this shows that he indeed despises Radio (Lee). The result of this is that they begin fighting as an a change people side’s from being with Sal’s side to the Radio’s side. The police are called, and they brutally kill Radio Raheem. Although the police directly caused Radio’s death, Radio’s actions had sparked the events that led to his death. He showed a lot of defiances when he entered the Pizzeria and decided not to turn off his boom box. He was well aware that this action would not be taken kindly by the owners of the pizzeria who were not black like Radio. Sal had imposed a restriction of music at his pizzeria. There was a boycott of Sal’s pizzeria. On the other hand, Radio decided that entering the pizzeria with a blasting song “Fight the Power” was the best action. Radio was aware that this action would invite a reaction. He therefore initiated the events that led to his death especially since the society was characterized by a lot of racial issues. However, although Radio Raheem is responsible for his death, Sal too is to blame because he initiated the fight between them when he broke Raheem’s boom box. Besides, the police did the actual act of killing Raheem even though they never understood the root cause of the fight making them share in the blame. Even though, Radio Raheem is still largely responsible for his death because he went to the Pizzeria. Additionally, the people are partly responsible for the destruction of the Pizzeria because they prevented the firefighters from putting the fire
