Do you go against the grain? Is going against the grain necessarily as superior quality? Oscar Wilde explained that disobedience is a great human virtue and it inspires social progression in history. When individuals disagree from a group it shows rebellion which then always usually leads to change whether that is prosperous or detrimental. Disobedience has created diversity, break through, and rebellion to create social progression through history. Diversity is shown throughout the world in matter such as race, food, religion, and thoughts. Disobedience develops people to break through the standard of the normal and form a contrasting opinion. Just like we see today in the United States, we see 2 different parties running for government positions that have differing beliefs based on past historical figures disagreeing on how the country should be ran. Republicans usually stick to a more conservative opinion while Democrats tend to rebel and have a more liberal opinion. You can see this issue in either a positive light or a negative light depending on your side of the case in that rebellion can lead to people validating for what they believe in or just being disrespectful to people. When in a real life setting no parent wants a kid that is constantly going against every single command they say and being disobedient to them.
