The Whiskey Rebellion The Whiskey Rebellion was a protest against unjust taxation on whiskey. The tax was imposed to get money for the government to make money for their poor treasury. The tax was imposed by Alexander hamilton. This protest occurred in pennsylvania during the 1790’s. The farmers did not like this tax because they have to distill whiskey to obtain their crops such as corn which was commonly grown. The rebellion had a lot of violence involved it was not a peaceful protest. Most people viewed it as a way to get there freedoms.
