Based on evidence from articles and videos, I have came to the conclusion that dodgeball should not be banned in our school. I believe that dodgeball shouldn't be banned because if it were to be, the “new phys ed” would take over gym classes across the U.S. This would teach the children to be soft and not teach them how to lose. There are many reasons that persuaded me to come to this conclusion. The first reason why I believe that dodgeball shouldn't be banned is because if it is banned, it will lead to more soft children in America. In the article titled “The Weak Shall Inherit The Gym” by Rick Reilly it states that “Dodgeball is one of the few times in life when you get to let out your aggressions, no questions asked.” This quote made me wonder why letting out aggressions would be a good thing, but then I found an answer. If kids can not let out their aggressions during dodgeball, they would have to let them out in other ways. This would be bad because it could hurt their friendships and other relationships. It could also do far more damage. If kids weren't being able to let out their aggressions, this could lead to shootings and other violences later in their lives. This evidence persuaded me because it suggested that dodgeball could actually make our country safer by preventing all of the shootings and violent activities that are shown on the news.
