Dodgeball can also be very helpful for kids because it can teach hand-eye coordination and lightning-fast thinking. Dodgeball can also teach outstanding social skills and teamwork. Whenever people play dodgeball they always have a smile on their face.
My opinion on dodge ball is they should get rid of it. Dodge ball is an elimination game and most of the people that are eliminated are weak and need more physical activity. So schools need to help and work with games that involve more physical activity and games that do not eliminate kids. Half of the time schools like to have everyone participate in everything and when you're eliminating people they are not participating. Another reason they banned dodge ball is because it's violent and inappropriate.
Amanda Ripley, the author of “The Case Against High-School Sports”, made many good points that can create much controversy when it comes to high-school sports, due to the cost and the academic problems it may be creating amongst the students. The School District should continue to fund sports because they benefit students.
