On a typical day, there are more than 20,000 phone calls placed to domestic violence hotlines nationwide. That may seem like a lot of phone calls, but on a average, 20 people per minute are physically abused by a partner. Think about what happens to to the children when they see their mom or dad being abused. America has not done enough about domestic violence since more and more people are affected each day. Domestic violence is an issue people don’t really like to talk about. It is one of the most not reported crimes in America right now. This is a big problem because with people not reporting the incident then the attackers are getting away with it and then that lead to more victims being abused. So there needs to be something done about this and it needs to be report even if it's not a big deal because it could lead to something worse then it is. According to the violence against women act article explains how nothing is really being done about domestic violence and how the police are not really doing much about it either they try to take the matters into their own hands and try to fix it without really reporting the the incidents. Which then if the victims see other victims not being help through this process then they feel like they are trap and have no room to reach out for help. With all of this only 20% will report to the police. The victims in these situations feel they can’t be help so there America needs to make a stand and do something about this because just in one year in the United States of America there were 6,488 victims of domestic violence. This is exactly why we need to find a solution to help the victims and find a way to help the victims so they feel they can actually report and have the abuser put away and help others in the long
