What would you do if you had a gun pointed at your head by your spouse several times? Or beaten twice a week? Leslie Morgan Steiner, has been though domestic abuse and creates a speech to answer a question most people ask, “Why does she stay?” (Steiner). In the speech logos, pathos and ethos are used to make her point proven on how domestic abuse is an important issue and why it need to be spoken about.
When most people in Larimer County, and throughout Colorado, think of domestic violence, physical altercations between people who live together come to mind. There are a number of situations, however, which may be considered domestic violence in the state of Colorado. By understanding the state’s laws on this type of offense, it may help people to avoid situations that could result in them facing criminal charges. Many people believe that domestic violence is physical assault or abuse committed by a person against his or her spouse or partner.
The choices an author makes of what perspective the story is written in or the narrative devices that are used can impact the meaning of the text. In the story, The Things They Carried by Tim O 'Brien, he uses different point of views and he uses both 1rst and 3rd person. In the story, The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe he uses allegory, metaphors, and he places the events in chronological order. These choices by the authors of both stories affect how the reader interprets the story.
I chose to do my bridge project over the subject of domestic violence, also known as intimate partner violence. I feel such a passion for this subject. A lot of times this subject is often brushed over or looked past. I wanted to create awareness and draw attention to the subject. Because of this reason, I chose to create a brochure.

February 2001, Amadou Diallo, a twenty-two-year-old, was standing near his building in New York after returning from a meal. He was mistaken for a serial rapist by a group of police officers. Despite him being completely unarmed, the officers shot Amadou 49 times, 19 of them hitting him. His last words were, “Mom, I'm going to college” Amadou’s story is just one of many instances of police misconduct and brutality. The police play a vital role in today’s society and justice system and are given total authority and power over the public to keep the streets safe.

Kennedy at the time of 1963 the president of the United States, conveys the principle that all men are created equal no matter your what the color of your skin, your race, or your ethnicity you are equal. Even though so many have fought for equal rights and most people want it to be that way the reality is different. Police brutality is a fact of not only American life but for many others. People of minorities have always been subjected to violence by those in law enforcement.

I think it is time for these and other victims who were treated unjustly by police officers to get justice. These deadly law enforcement incidents must come to an end.

Zienab Assaad One topic I strongly believe in is that children should not get abused , for any reason. It can ruin lives and it can be seen in persons of all ages. People ,as a whole is also affected by child abuse both in bad and good ways. In this essay I will say some of the results of this violent act on people as well as our culture.
There are many women who are being forced into sex, beaten or perhaps abused in her lifetime by a person called a man. At some other times, the women are being assaulted by people whom they don’t know, but most frequently they are hurt or abused by people who are close to them. Women abuse occur in all cultures and races, it doesn’t have any boundaries. We have buried a lot of women, of which their death resulted from women abuse issue, some women today have anger and can’t even raise their children properly, they are angry with everyone and some can’t even face the world. Women abuse causes an awful emotional and physical pain; it intimidates the lives of women.
