It has come to my attention that the ability to communicate effectively with different cultures, ethnicities, and backgrounds is now necessary in order to function well with the new globalized, modern world. Therefore, I will be giving you all some insight as well as tips and solutions to better assimilate with others that may have few similarities with you. As DuPraw and Axner say, “No matter how well we understand each other, communication is hard.” (ND) You might think to yourself that communication is difficult due to one’s fears of it. Being judged, hurting others unintentionally, and even being completely misunderstood can be some of the many obstacles that you may or may not have already encountered in your lifetime. Another important piece of advice I would like you all to remember is to never let your own culture and traditions fade while tying to assimilate to another one.
