Alvin Cullum York was one of the most decorated soldiers of the First World War. He was a recipient of the Medal of Honor and the French Legion of Honor (content). Alvin York was born in the hills of the Cumberland Plateau of Tennessee on December 13, 1887. He was the third born of 11 children and was the son of William Uriah York and Mary Elizabeth York. When Alvin was young he only attended school up to the third grade however, he earned a reputation to be quite the sharpshooter which is how he helped feed his family by supplying turkey that he had killed.
There have been many prominent leaders that have molded America into what it is today, Lee is one of them. Robert E. Lee was born in Virginia, January 19, 1807, although one historian believes has was born one year earlier (Wikipedia.com 1). Little is actually known about his childhood, and Lee scarcely mentioned it as an adult. His father, Henry “Light Horse” Lee, left him and his family at a young age and never returned. In 1825, Robert E. Lee attended West Point and graduated second in his class in 1829.
Powell Clayton was a Captain who fought in the bloodiest battle known in American history, he fought for the Union’s side. He lived until he was 80 years old and remained leader until his death. He served as a Captain of the first Kansas infantry and as time went by he slowly rose beyond captain. He was relocated into Arkansas after the war. During the Civil War he decided to join the army.

Not because of the side he fought for, but because he was an honorable man with strong beliefs; as a general he was a fatherly leader his soldiers looked up to; and he was a very clever tactician. Although Lee fights for the Confederacy, many people greatly revered him, even to this day. Robert E. Lee showed how honorable he was when he chose to fight for his home state of Virginia over the United States. He joined the Confederacy because his “mother” state would be fighting with the Confederacy.

It is trying to show more of a realistic view of the people and culture of the Ozarks in Arkansas. With the majority of information seemingly coming straight out census reports. Though these reports may not have been as accurate as they could have been census reports would not have been biased by popular views of the outside world. He is trying to refute the image that Ozarker’s are all backward hill folk that do little other than wrestle pigs and make moonshine.
When the emperor had arrived at the embassy he was expecting to be charged, however; little did he know that the general had a much different plan.
