The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde For the past couple of weeks I’ve been reading The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. While reading I figured out multiple of themes. The themes I am about to explain are extremely crucial on the book and its message. The first theme is the dreadful and suspenseful lack of communication. Throughout the book the characters show inability to express what they should, and withhold information that is necessary. Going back to when Enfield told Utterson how he witnessed the little girl being trampled, he kept the culprit’s name out to avoid gossip.
