There is dragon folklore in nearly every culture, even though the two protruding myths originated from European and Asian dragons. There are references to dragons in the Bible, Indian and African cultures also. In the Western custom, dragons are seen as dangerous creatures that need to be slaughtered. The Eastern traditions perceive dragons more as guardians and need should be honoured. Dragons can be found in stories and represented in art all through history. Traditionally, the Asian dragons are respected and well-regarded in the Eastern culture.
