Drinking and Driving It is a hot July afternoon and 7-year-old Chilli just got done getting pampered for her 8th birthday three days away. While she spent her afternoon in the mall getting pretty, Jeremy Solis spent his in a bar getting drunk. Driving a stolen truck the wrong way, Jeremy Solis slams into Chilli’s car head-on. Chilli had massive injuries and wasn’t even expected to live. She spent 105 days in the hospital fighting for her life and fighting for a chance to be able to walk. Jeremy wound up in jail for ten years, while Chilli wound up in a wheelchair for life(“Every Face Tells a Story”). Drinking while intoxicated is a troubling problem cast upon the US. Do not let the trend of drinking and driving influence you to make a mistake that can put someone in a wheelchair, or even worse, kill them. No one is invincible to drunk driving fatalities or the effects alcohol has on one’s motor skills and mental capacity. People are, however, in control of being aware, prepared, and law-abiding. Friends don’t let friends drive drunk. Don’t choose the wrong choice that can end fatally. Don’t compromise someone else’s future. Don’t drive drunk.
