Since the Internet has become a revolution, a problem surged in the lives of several people called cyberbullying. Cyberbullying is defined as “an attack based on deliberately insulting, threatening, embarrassing or harassing people on the internet or via mobile phones” according to the article Dynamic Cognitive System For Recovering From Vulnerable Attacks In Social Network. One of the most common ways of cyberbullying is by creating a fake account pretending to be someone else and start posting pictures and comments in order to embarrass your victim or friends. Another common way is to start posting lies and rumors about the other person, making him or her feel like trash; this can be done either anonymously or personally. Some people also do it by sending offensive direct messages to the other person’s inbox, which may insult him or her, or sending discouraging messages that include porn or modified pictures to make the victim feel uncomfortable by affecting his feelings. To add, stealing passwords is another way of doing cyberbullying because you can also steal an identity, which is also known as identity theft. Some of these reasons are things you can avoid in order to prevent cyberbullying, which will also prevent the negative effects that were mentioned previously. The most popular reason is that people post all kind of personal information in their profiles like their cellphones, complete name, address, the name of his or her family members, credit card numbers, security number, allowing the cyberbully to get a head start on the act. People also share their password with their friends, which of course, has a negative side, which is that you would never know if one of your friends want to hurt you or play revenge on you for something you did to them, so you must be really careful with who you give information and passwords.
