1. Why are eating disorders becoming more common among the pre-teen population?
Eating disorders are becoming more common among the pre-teen population because of hormones, puberty, body dissatisfaction, depressive symptoms, and low self-esteem. Moreover, changes related to puberty can lead to irritability, lack of confidence, and other mood swings. Further, pre-teens comparing their growing body to the body of a developed adult causes these pre-teens to develop eating disorders.
2. Why would some boys have a more difficult time building muscle?**
Some boys would have a difficult time building muscle because they are unable to build muscle until puberty is in effect. In addition, boys will want to get bigger by lifting weights when their body is physiologically incapable, which can possibly prevent growth. Furthermore, boys who have unhealthy diets could prevent the development of muscle because of not getting enough of the nutrients needed for growth.

Some examples of factors that contribute to female athlete recovery are internal factors, important others, and environmental factors. Internal factors that contribute to female athlete recovery are; wanting to regain the ability and strength to fully participate in their given sport, and developing new coping mechanisms. In addition, some other important factors that contribute to recovery are support and concern from family and friends, which will help the athlete to realize that they need help. Further, environmental factors that help include leaving non-supportive environments.
