Sports are important factors to my personality today. Whether it’s cross country, swimming, or peewee basketball in first grade, sports taught me valuable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The person I have become is influenced by my membership in the Indiana Association of Student Councils (IASC), my Eagle Scout journey, and my rank of captain on the cross country team. As a Northeast District Representative for the IASC Executive Committee, I have integrated the pillars of the IASC into my personality: Inspiration, Action, Service, and Character. The twelve delegates of the IASC upholds these traits as we discuss how to engage everyone and acknowledge the diversity in our schools. By holding Regional Conferences, State Convention, and the Student Leadership Institute, we diffuse our mission of making students of Indiana better leaders. The purpose is to make the stands more convenient for visitors as the walk the lovely trails of Bixler Lake. This project tested my leadership skills and knowledge I gained as a scout and a student. Without the teamwork of the 14 individuals who helped accomplished this task, I would not have finished before my 18th birthday.
