The Early Years Learning Framework is intended for educators of children aged birth to five years of age. This framework offers a vision that “all children experience learning that is engaging
Fuller and Strath (2001) conducted a quantitative research study that examined local populations of early education organizations based on the 1990 household census data to report features of the early childhood workforce nationwide. Multiple economic and regulatory forces shaped the population of early education organizations that operated within states and local communities. The median center-based teacher was 34 years of age, reported having completed some college, and was married. The median family childcare home provider had a high school diploma. Fifteen percent of all preschool teachers in urban areas were African American and 8% were Latina.

Within this theoretical discussion I will address how current principles of early years’ pedagogy have been affected by the work of pioneers of early years’ education. Modern day Early Years Education has been hugely influenced and built upon the ideas and theories of historic and current pioneers and legislation. The statutory framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage is a legal document that sets out the standards required for the development, care and learning of children aged birth to 5 years. The EYFS must be followed by all schools and Ofsted-registered early years providers. Within the EYFS it is stated that “Every Child deserves the best possible start in life and support that enables them to fulfil their potential” and therefore
As an early childhood educator, I believe that children are a product of their environment and experiences. Children need to feel safe and important, be provided with guidance and supports, and most of all children need to have the freedom to be just that, children. I believe that in my classroom all children will feel important, comfortable, and safe. Therefore, I will build positive relationships with each child; engaging in interactions that allow me to understand who they are as an individual.
I was notified by Monster.com early this morning that Greater Johnstown School District is accepting applications for permanent full-time elementary teachers. Seeking additional information about Greater Johnstown School District, I went to the website to view the district’s value and mission. I was thrilled to discovered my educational values and vision parallel the School District’s mission; which is to create a safe, positive learning environment through which to meet students’ diverse needs as they develop the skills, attitude, and knowledge essential to reach their full potential and succeed in our global society.
As the expectations for children entering kindergarten rise, so should a child’s preparation for the concepts that they will be expected to know. More and more parents are making the decision to enroll their children into some type of preschool to help prepare them for kindergarten, and more and more of these students are succeeding in their early school years and even their later life. In fact, 61% of parents say that their children are enrolled in preschool, which has risen by 6% in just one year (Early Childhood Education Zone)! Kids that do not receive the opportunity to attend pre-kindergarten classes are not getting the chance to succeed at their full potential. Studies show that kids that do not attend pre-K are 60% more likely to

Early childhood teachers cannot only work with their colleagues to face children and the families’ needs but also need to work with multi-disciplinary to collaborate the ideas with each other and discuss the best outcome for the children and the families in early childhood education setting together. So, the more explanation about the multi-disciplinary team is that teachers with different professionals such as psychologists, child social worker, police, adult social worker, health visitor or court working together to provide different services and support for children and the families’ needs. They are diverse professional groups who work together in order to collaborate, reflect, access and support children’s development, health and learning and also families' needs.
There are a great number of studies that state that the first five years of a child’s development are the most important and that they will set the tone for the child’s ability to learn, socialize, and be a successful member of society. Because of this, proponents believe that preschool should become mandatory for all children. While this might seem like a good solution to some, preschool should not be mandatory for all children before they enter kindergarten. There are many factors to be considered in a child 's early development and to put a blanket demand on entering preschool, could be a disservice to some children based on parental influences, environmental factors, and the level of education and care being given in a particular home childcare

Topic: Justify the inclusion of social studies in the early childhood curriculum To say that social studies should not be included in the early childhood curriculum, would be an understatement. Just take an in-depth study at what social studies is and its key goals. we must justify the inclusion of social studies in the early childhood curriculum because it is closely linked to the key goals and the growth and development of early childhood age children. Early childhood education will be broadened by adding social studies to the curriculum.
