Truman State University is a key stakeholder. The university should care for the students who attend and give their money to this institution. This research hopes to eventually keep more students in the classroom by encouraging greater reception of the flu vaccine. The idea of more students actually attending class should be in Truman’s best interest. Mission Statement: Offer an exemplary undergraduate education to well-prepared students, grounded in the liberal arts and sciences, in the context of a public institution of higher education.
Both class discussions and chapter 5 in the book “Education the Practice and Profession of Teaching” has allowed me to gain knowledge of historical and current trends in policies and practices that affect early childhood and childhood educators because in the reading the authors speak in depth about social reform with in education, they tell about how policies were created and how they influence our education now for example in the text there is mention of attendance laws that protected children by educating them and keeping them from working. From the reading I also learned about ESEA which made federal government responsible, this act provided funds for poverty program as for current programs Bush’s passes NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT which
Education will determine how successful you are in the future, and will lead you to find joy and happiness with all of the things you can accomplish. Also education should be taught while the children is young and has a fresh mind. Otherwise, it’ll be too late and later in life they will regret not learning or trying to work their hardest. That’s why we should really be trying to bring out every child’s dream and potential to be the best person they can be. The main goal of education is like teaching a man how to fish instead of just giving him the fish.
1.1. Why should early childhood development teachers not use food in art activities, such as painting and collage? Because children are still in the process of learning to distinguish between food and other objects that are not to be eaten it can result in causing confusion in the young learner so therefore it best not to use food items for eating as art materials. Also art work such as paintings and collages that makes use of food can most definitely not be displayed and kept for long periods of time as it can attract insects and go off or moldy. This could have a negative effect on the child if his art work no longer looks as beautiful as it did when he created it.
Fuller and Strath (2001) conducted a quantitative research study that examined local populations of early education organizations based on the 1990 household census data to report features of the early childhood workforce nationwide. Multiple economic and regulatory forces shaped the population of early education organizations that operated within states and local communities. The median center-based teacher was 34 years of age, reported having completed some college, and was married. The median family childcare home provider had a high school diploma. Fifteen percent of all preschool teachers in urban areas were African American and 8% were Latina.
The reading for this week discussed the ongoing changes in the field of early childhood education, providing insight on policies and trends that are relevant and key to the success of our youngest populations. The chapter provided details on the different types of programs and teaching values, as well as the different cultural and social identities and levels of education that make up the people that millions of families entrust their children to everyday. I enjoyed reading this chapter. It mentioned the push for higher quality educators and how there is an issue of funding that education which I feel feeds into some of the issues behind overall program quality and educator accountability. A lot of parents tend to blame themselves or their
My philosophy on education today, would have to be that I believe that all children are unique individual who needs a secure, caring, and stimulating atmosphere in which to growand mature emptionally intellectually physically, and socially. I am a teacher at a pre-schoolalready so I knowand see everyday how unique every childs is. Not all children are the same or learn the same either. That why teachers are great at what we do by providing each student with different opprotuities on how to learn. When teachers role is to guild, providing access to information rather then acting as the primary source of information, the students search for knowledge is met as they learn to find answers to their questions.

Early Childhood Education: Theoretical Perspectives Abstract Studies confirm that high-quality education early in a child’s life leads to continued success in school, at work, and results in a healthier well-rounded student who is emotionally and socially strong. In most early childhood programs and schools, technology will be part of the learning background of the future. To make sure this new technology is used effectively, we must confirm that teachers are fully trained and supported. In this paper, theoretical perspectives of child development are discussed with the basic elements of learning program.
My educational philosophy has been in development for 15 years. It is a product of my own experiences in school, as well as my opinions on what skills should be taught, and to what extent different components of the child should be developed. The academic, social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children can be heavily influenced in PreK and kindergarten classrooms. It is dependent on the teacher to conduct their classroom in a manner that successfully facilitates the development of each child’s faculties. As a future teacher, it is critical that I enter the classroom with a clear philosophy in regards to how I believe education should be conducted.
Introduction In early childhood education, it is important for teachers to always consider and understand children and the families’ needs. Early childhood teachers cannot only work with their colleagues to face children and the families’ needs but also need to work with multi-disciplinary to collaborate the ideas with each other and discuss the best outcome for the children and the families in early childhood education setting together. So, the more explanation about the multi-disciplinary team is that teachers with different professionals such as psychologists, child social worker, police, adult social worker, health visitor or court working together to provide different services and support for children and the families’ needs. They are diverse professional groups who work together in order to collaborate, reflect, access and support children’s development, health and learning and also families' needs.
The important reason to makes a good and professional early childhood educator is to communicate with children and try to understand them. I did not have any working experience in kindergarten, but I have some experience of taking care of a child due to my mother is a babysitter. The child that my mother takes care is a boy and he’s autism. He is a child that sometimes like lives in his own world and sometimes he is also hyperactive. He likes to sing, dance and write.
Quality in the Early Years is based on the respected educational goals and practice of the cultural communities making up a society. A definition of quality in the early years differs by the perspectives of each of the settings stakeholders (Huntsman, 2008). It comprises of a range of things that change between and depends entirely on the needs of each individual. Today in Ireland early year’s educators in settings throughout the country are increasingly more challenged to provide quality services that meet both the requirements and expectations of each child attending their settings and also their families (CECDE, 2006). Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) has in many countries become a policy priority.
Being a pre-service training educator, specific goals and objectives should be set to achieve educator’s own educational philosophy. The Educational philosophy is an individual statement of educators’ guiding principles about the education-related issues, which helps to guide when drawing up curricula and structuring classroom discussions for children. Every educator should have their unique set of principles and ideas to affect students’ performance. I strongly believe that early childhood education is to help children to achieve whole person development which including cognitive, physical, mental and social aspects. Children’s programs should be based on children’s needs and interests as they are going to grow, develop and mature in educators’
THE IMPORTANCE OF EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION IN THE USA 1.Introduction Early childhood is an essential stage of life in terms of a child 's physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. Growth of mental and physical abilities progress at an amazing rate and a very high proportion of learning takes place from birth to age six.
