Education is at the forefront of most new parent’s minds, which is why there is so much pressure on choosing a good preschool. Parents want to make sure that they give their children the best possible start to education, in order to create a solid foundation for success late in life. However, in society today, expectations placed on preschoolers are becoming more demanding, a trend that could have many negative consequences on the development of children. This idea is discussed in the article The New Preschool is Crushing Kids written by Erika Christakis. Christakis interconnects the audience, speaker, and subject as well as uses appeals to logic, emotion, and credibility to craft a strong and effective argument about how preschool has started to place too many expectations on preschoolers.
Unit 1, served to introduce the multiple roles of an Early Childhood teacher and the ability to function effectively in these capacities; in order to meet the holistic needs of children in the field. My educational philosophy has been in development for 15 years. It is a product of my own experiences in school, as well as my opinions on what skills should be taught, and to what extent different components of the child should be developed. The academic, social, emotional, and cognitive development of the children can be heavily influenced in PreK and kindergarten classrooms. It is dependent on the teacher to conduct their classroom in a manner that successfully facilitates the development of each child’s faculties. As a future teacher, it is critical that I enter the classroom with a clear philosophy in regards to how I believe education should be conducted.
This course has helped me learn about early childhood education and the different teaching styles. I like the alternation of quizzes and discussion postings each week. I do not have to do both at the same time, and it gives me time to do my readings. I especially like that the quizzes are not timed, because I do not stress about the time limit and I am able to take my time and answer the questions as best as I can. When I am working in my discussions, I am able to develop my ideas and present them to the class.
My position purpose is to direct and supervise child development centers. Make sure the special need kids get the help and understanding that they need .I will also promote the kids and get them prepared for the future education facilities. This may contain helping the kids get along or teaching them how to work together and cooperate when working on classroom work. Throughout out my life, I’ve strived to be the best in order to reach my goal. Ever since I was in middle school, I’ve had my heart set on being an elementary school teacher; and I’ve been taking and will continue taking many steps academically and within my extra-curricular activities for my lifetime goal. As soon as I stepped into high school. I began to push myself academically. Even though I didn’t enroll in AP or Pre-AP courses, I still had to work hard for my grades, but even though I had all regular classes I had to teach myself self-discipline, time management, and most of all to never give up.

A definition of quality in the early years differs by the perspectives of each of the settings stakeholders (Huntsman, 2008).
