Statement of Intent for Son of a Trickster
From reading the novel, “The Son of a Trickster,” by Eden Robinson, I was able to develop the thesis; the author’s use of symbolism, mysticism and supernaturalism, and Jared’s negative connection with his peers creates of an image of the harsh reality that lives within or embedded in her Native culture. I believe that the thesis is worth putting thought and time into because Eden Robinson and the story both have strong connection to each other because she and the main character, Jared, are Native American and from an indigenous nation.

In the story, the first point is that the author uses animals to represent and symbolize. To further expand, Eden Robinson uses the raven which symbolizes good luck
