A Soul with Sorrow Laden Edgar Allan Poe was born on January 1809. He is a famous American writer, poet and critic. I believe that his poems reflect his tragic and sorrowful life. Starting with the loss of his parents when he was only 3 years old. Then he lived with John Allan, which was not a very good relationship that he had to escape. Moreover, the death of his beloved wife had the most impact on him and his poems. Poe was genius sense he was a child, he could express his feelings through writing which I think was the main reason that made him such a great poet. The majority of his poems showed his anger to life that when I start reading it I could imagine how much Poe was mad at that time. For example, in sonnet to science he personified science as if it is the immortal daughter of the ancient time "science! True daughter of old time thou art!" In addition, he uses repetition in many of his poems to show the clearness of his ideas like in one of my favorite poems "the raven" the word nevermore "qouth the raven, "nevermore." repeated many times which passes negative emotions to my heart that I felt the pain of the narrator and how much he misses his dead lover Lenore. The tragic things covered Poe's heart and mind with a gloomy perspective for life, but it couldn't hide the charming love for love that was in his personality, and made him write such a beautiful lines about love like in Tamelane " I saw no heaven – but in her eyes". "Annabel Lee", a romantic and tragic poem ends up with the death of the man's lover "Annabel Lee", he wrote it a few months before his death, which is a strong proof that Poe had a tender heart that made him die in the end because of the longing to his
