The Detroit Industry Mural by Diego Rivera was created from 1932-1933 which is displayed at the Detroit Institute of Arts ("Diego Rivera Biography”). The piece represents the industrial and technological advancements made during that time and is shown across 27 panels. Additionally, when Rivera was growing up in Mexico, workers were treated poorly and didn’t have laws to protect them because many were living in poverty. This influenced Rivera to create a mural that honored Detroit’s labor force and technological advancements. Diego Rivera was born in Guanajuato, Mexico in 1886 and lived with his father and mother - Diego Rivera and Maria Barrientos de Rivera ("Diego Rivera Biography”).
Some days he would be chained and fed poorly, because he would disobey the guard 's orders, but he never regretted his decisions he made. About a year later he was ordered to be released by Jose Joaquin de Herrera. Before he was ordered to be released he escaped the prison then left to Texas, and went straight to Sam Houston. He was asked to go on the Santa Fe Expedition by President Lamar, right after he got out of prison. He went from being a servant to being an Alcalde, which means a mayor.
He went to the university of Salamanca and dropped out after 2 years. He joined Diego Velazquez on his expedition to Mexico. Diego cancelled at last minute Hernan ignored it and sailed with 500 men and 11 ships. He tricked the Aztecs to give him a lot of gold and a treasure he founded was chocolate. The ruler of the Aztecs named Montezuma.
He became really successful in his writing after he worked with the magazine companies and has inspired many people. I chose this author because of his amazing books that I connected to, I don't like reading but his books were different (Lesesne). one day I hope one of his books can become a movie and he agrees. “I'll earn a lot of money as soon as a major studio realizes what a great movie one of my books would make.” (Lubar) when I read this I realized that this actually could happen one day.
John Edgar Hoover was born January 1, 1895, to Dickerson Naylor Hoover and Annie Marie Scheitlin Hoover, two civil servants who worked for the U.S. Government. He grew up literally in the shadow of Washington, D.C. politics in a neighborhood three blocks from Capitol Hill. Hoover was closest to his mother, who served as the family’s disciplinarian and moral guide. He lived with her until she died in 1938, when he was 43 years old. Highly competitive, Hoover worked to overcome a stuttering problem by learning to talk fast.
He marched for days,nights,weeks, and months as finally he battled for the Capital, Mexico City. His efforts were not strong enough and some say not wise. His leadership along side with Allende was enough for thousands of men agreed to fight for their liberty. Miguel Pinero was one of the most well-known Puerto Rican writers of his time. Winning a Tony Award in 1975 with his play “Short Eyes” and being nominated for a Drama Desk Award, New York Drama Critics’ Circle and an Obie Award. Miguel Pinero was not only a poet, he was also a play writer and an actor. With all his qualities, Pinero helped create the Nuyorican Poets Café in New York City.
John “J.” Edgar Hoover lived in Washington all his life, and it seemed his destiny was to become the first leader of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Hoover was born January 1st, 1895 to Dickerson Naylor Hoover Sr. and Annie Marie Scheitlin, He grew up almost strictly in Washington, becoming Valedictorian of his class at Central High School (Biography of John Edgar Hoover | The J. After graduating from high school, Hoover started working at the Library of Congress to have a source of income, since he lacked the funds to accept a scholarship from the University of Virginia. Doss and how he was a hero to stand up for what he believed in in the military. Desmond Doss was a hero because he fought in the military without the use of a weapon and went into battle with nothing but a bible and a first aid kit, stood up for what he believed in, and undergo beatings, and cruel tauntings because he wanted to serve his country. Desmond Doss was born in Virginia and blessed with William and Bertha Doss with two other siblings.
