Sean Gaber 4-26-15 Comp I The Life of Oskar Schindler Despite the sadness and human loss that the world suffered during World War II and the Holocaust, heroes emerged. One unlikely hero was a man who did not start off knowing or wanting to be a hero. He actually started out the war as a businessman looking to make some easy money.
One of Bernie Sander’s many plans to institute true equality in the United States is to eliminate institutional discrimination based on sex, sexual orientation, or race. This includes sexual orientation discrimination in schools, something that has become real issue for some of the United States’ children as even elementary age children can be kicked out of school based on their parent’s sexualities (Prachi.) and many states have no laws against such actions. Also, Edward Snowden did not simply release all the information he could, he studied each document.[6] Edward Snowden purposefully released only documents proving that the U.S. was spying on its people without telling them. Edward Snowden remarked “The only thing I fear is the harmful effects on my family, who I won’t be able to help anymore”.[7] That makes it seem as though leaking this information was so important it took precedence over his family. Most people need a very strong conviction to abandon their family, and also to leave such a “paradise”, as was said about Snowden’s life in Hawaii.
In the beginning, when this news blasted out, Snowden claimed that he did not know the definition of whistleblower. From my perspective, traitor or criminal must pursue legal avenues for reining in the NSA, for example, seek out members of Congress. People who are elected by American citizens represent the whole country’s interests on significant matters of state. The action that Snowden undoubtedly harm the benefits of home country.

The main issue in the Snowden controversy is the conflicting rights of private individuals and the US government with regard to the use of telecommunications and the internet. There are ethical issues surrounding this controversy and the most applicable ethical approach for this case is “Ethics by Rights Approach”. As a background, the reason why US government had declared Edward Snowden a traitor is his involvement in the leaking of about 1.7 million confidential US documents, 15,000 Australian intelligence files and 58,000 British intelligence files from the National Security Agency (or NSA) to the public. These confidential information were acquired by the NSA through the PRISM program by collaborating with big internet companies such

The morality of killing animals (when there is no suffering involved) posses a challenge for utilitarian ethics. My objective is to address this problem working within a utilitarian framework. Utilitarianism is a moral theory that evaluates our actions as moral or immoral depending on the consequences these actions create in the world. A moral action is the one that brings the best consequences to all the individuals involved. These consequences are judged in hedonistic terms or, in other words, their morality depends on whether they reduce or increase the amount of suffering in the world.
