The Federalist Papers The Federalist papers consists of 85 essays written in the late 1780s by James Madison, Alexander Hamilton and John Jay. The three authors published it in New York newspapers under the name “Publius” to persuade its citizens to ratify the new U.S constitution. In 1932, if a black would drink from the same water fountain as white, he would get into a lot of trouble. That’s why John Howard changes his skin color.
Life was hard for some African Americans in the 1930s. During the 1930s blacks and whites were separated. In schools black children and white children were separated. Water fountains, classrooms, and bathrooms were places that had segregation.
The prejudice that happened in the 1930’s was basically the same as the 1960’s, but a little more severe. In the 1930’s, the prejudice was that blacks were inferior to the whites and if anything between blacks and whites happened, the white person was always right. No matter if it was a white guy and a black guy, white guy and a black girl or any other combination the whites were right in every instance. In the 1960’s the blacks had started to get more equality in cases and they started to win more which helped them towards equality.
People got discriminated for being from a different race or a different colour from everybody
The culture in the 1930s was completely different from now. The culture, sports, presidents, automobiles, and equality were all different. The movies and books had a different way of talking as far slang, and addressing people. Some of the books in the time were To Kill a Mockingbird, and The Hobbit. The music was completely different there was no rap.

Discrimination is a tactic people use to show dominance over a group of people they find inferior. Discrimination invokes fear and distrust in the people it is inflicted on. During World War II, discrimination was the driving force of the fighting. While Hitler was in power, he instilled antisemitic ideas into the mind of his people. This led to the majority of the Jewish population of Europe being put in concentration camps, to be tortured, and or killed.
The 1930s was a trying time for colored people in the United States. During this time lynching had become a common practice. The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) really started pushing for civil rights during this era. In the 1930s blacks were not the only ones being targeted and discriminated against. Communism was a threat in the United States and many people feared a communist attack.

Race represents a clash of values in the 20s because there was racial improvement and flourishing for blacks in the north like Harlem, but in the south blacks were being lynched and compelled by jim crow laws
Racial Discrimination was very prevalent during the 1930’s. The line between caucasians and african americans was relevant in the way the african american community was treated in the south. The african american community had very little to no rights, which was strongly represented in the Powell V. Alabama court cases. On March 25th , 1931 Nine African American males jumped on a empty freight train heading to Scottsboro.
“United we stand and divided we fall.” This famous quote from John Dickens during the revolutionary war really rained true during WWII. It was a time when every single person in the country had to sacrifice and be involved. It was a time like the world had never seen and there was no hiding from it. The world was under threat and the US needed everyone to unite if they were going to win.
During the 1930s to the 1950s, the struggle against racism and white supremacy shaped the lives of black culture. African Americans during this time wanted to become a source of strength and assert themselves within the American society. The constant defeat and reject of a white supremacy race has caused many barriers for black culture. Blacks were faced with a negative image that stereotype them as lazy, dumb, and promiscuous. This perception from white people has caused blacks to be rejected as a race, which challenged then to take a stance against negative distortion and help built a better community.
The concept of discrimination then leads to the civil rights movement. Whites turned on the African Americans, after the use of slavery, they went full on offensive. Hate crimes started towards them and it was chaos (“Racial”). It seemed like this influence has spread and now people are attacking the minority group.
