Mexico has a weak judicial and police institution and a large economy with consumers. Mexico the hub of one of the world's most sophisticated drug networks. For decades, drug trafficking organizations used Mexico's entrenched political system to create a system-wide network of corruption that ensured distribution rights, market access, and even official government protection for drug traffickers. Officers could make an exchange for money to be able to let people pass by with the drugs or trafficking that they are participating in. He escaped the Puente Grande Federal Prison in 2001 by bribing guards and officials of the prison and then escaped the prison by hiding inside a laundry cart. After 13 years on the run, El Chapo was captured and then sent to another prison, the Altiplano Federal Prison. Here, the maximum security failed once again to incarcerate the criminal. By having his henchmen build an elaborate system of tunnels all leading up to the crime lord’s shower stall, El Chapo slipped away from the authorities. This failure once again embarrassed the Mexican Government as it clearly portrayed their
" There are many theories as to why he chose that name. Some say it was the name of a bandit leader he met; others say it was Villa's fraternal grandfather's last name. Pancho Villa's notoriety as a bandit and his prowess at escaping capture caught the attention of men who were planning a revolution. These men understood that Villa's skills could be used as a guerilla fighter during the revolution. Since Porfirio Diaz, the sitting president of Mexico, had created much of the current problems for the poor and Francisco Madero promised change for the lower classes, Pancho Villa joined Madero's cause and agreed to be a leader in the revolutionary
Cesar Chavez explained nonviolence as a form of bringing awareness to not only the wages, working conditions and treatment of farm workers, but also the overall treatment of marginalized people in the United States. However, growing up with the perspective of the farmworker’s inspired him to spread the word of resistance against the growers and the government as a whole. Cesar Chavez purpose of La Causa not only inspired people to become a part of something so great, but to inflict change individually by encouraging his brothers and sisters to become mentally and physically strong. Which I believe is the backbone to a non-violence protest. It’s also the mentality a social worker should inhibit because dealing with change, it requires many of

Furthering the problem, the cartels are currently recruiting children and adults alike to transport drugs. Many of the Mexican people would rather support the cartels because they can make much more money, and there are no real legal repercussions from their actions. In a case study done by Lucina Melesio & John Holman in Mexico cartels recruit children to smuggle people to US, a young boy named Ciudad Juarez transports drugs into the U.S., it is stated in the article that “[w]hile his journey means he can make up to $2,000 on a good day, thousands of other Juarez residents, who work the late shift in the city 's maquila factories producing goods for exportation to the US, earn around $5 a day”. Not only is Mexico in such shambles that smuggling drugs over the U.S. border is more lucrative than a steady job, also citizens would rather rely on cartels because of how corrupt the government is. The overarching consensus from the Mexican people seems to be that they cannot trust their leaders or the cartel, but the cartel helps them more than the
Guzman shifted his control to the eastern states of Northern Mexico (Durango, Coahuila, and Chihuahua) and violence has increased in Mexico and has spread into the border towns of Texas. In order to alleviate drug crime and murders in Mexico and Texas, it would be prudent to put “El Chapo” out of business. Since drug crime in California has decreased after legalization, it seems plausible to adopt such a law to mitigate drug crime in Texas and our neighbor, Mexico.”

Benito Cereno, a novella by Herman Melville first published in 1855, is the story of a revolt on a Spanish slave ship off the coast of Chile in 1799. The focalizer, Captain Amasa Delano of an American whaling ship, notices the San Dominick in trouble and decides to go aboard, believing its Spanish crew was in charge up until the very end when he realizes his experience was all a charade organized by the rebelling slaves. Melville may have written this story to connect the rebellion on the ship with the current slave rebellions across the United States, given the novella was written only about six years before the American Civil War started. The novella commented on slavery during a time when there was great political turmoil over the issue
“ An Hour with Abuelo” by Judith Ortiz Cofer illustrates the theme that the world does not revolve around you. In the beginning of the story Arturo was forced to visit Abuelo and was trying to get out of the place as soon as possible. For example the text states that “ I hate the place, the old people’s home, especially the way it smells like industrial-strength ammonia and other stuff I won’t mention. ”(Ortiz Cofer 59). At the later stages of the story Abuelo politely excuses Arturo because of the pink runner lady which completely changed the roles in the story.
