On March 4, 1933, Franklin Roosevelt was elected in office. During his election people, especially the ladies were hoping for a tremendous change. The white men were especially known for being strong in politics and men had high paying jobs. The blacks would be given the lowest paying jobs. The lack of human rights and equality stood out to one special individual.
She realized that women and blacks needed to gain their voice back. The men needed to realize that everyone that immigrated to the Americas came for one reason: freedom. So Eleanor helped him with his career by traveling overseas with him to his meeting and began to be her husband’s eyes and ears and reported back what happened after the visit with the government and institution programs. Eleanor also helped government programs for artist and writers.
