“That’s All Right” was played on the radio only a couple days after being recorded and immediately became popular with the listeners. Even then, he was still known as a country artist. However in 1956, Elvis had become a national star. He has his first number one single, “Heartbreak Hotel”, on his self-titled album, which also went to number one in the same year. During his service, his mother had gotten very ill and he was granted to go home to visit her. A couple days later, she died and Presley was completely heartbroken.
