Social Media is increasingly utilized as a method for news consumption and communication. A 2012 study found that more than one in four people regularly get news from social media (Shearer & Gottfried, 2017). One up-and-coming news outlet is theSkimm. The mission of theSkimm is to inform female millennials of current events from politics to pop-culture. Recently, theSkimm has developed a segment devoted to informing its followers regarding healthcare, and the political climate surrounding it. What is concerning is the lack of input from medical professionals, particularly nurses. The Script was founded in response to the deficit of the nursing perspective on issues relevant to society. Mission. The mission of The Script is to: (a) keep nurses informed of issues relevant to the profession, (b) provide a network for nurses to connect, and, (c) to create content relevant to nursing that is intriguing to nurses as well as the public. As a consultant, the recommended leadership theory that will foster growth and quality outcomes of the organization is the path-goal theory. Path-goal theory is a leadership theory that addresses how leaders motivate followers to be productive and satisfied with their work (Northhouse, 2016). Path-goal theory is a dyadic theory of supervision. The mission of the path-goal theory is to enhance follower performance and follower satisfaction through focusing on follower motivation. Emphasis is placed on the relationship between the leader’s style and the characteristics of the followers and the organizational setting (Northhouse, 2016).
