Setting: Enders Game takes place in the Future. It basically has what we have right now, but since it was published in 1977, this is how they thought the future was going to be. The story takes place in 5 different settings, but their are 2 main places, such as Battle School, which is where the I.F (International Fleet, the only army able to fight the buggers.) takes kids to train them to be marines in the fight for humanity. Their is also Fairyland, which is part of a mind game which is used in Battle School. Here, Ender learns his fears, and at the end of the story, it plays a significant role. Characters: The bad guys of this story are the Buggers, which are the aliens that are attacking Earth. There is also Peter, who is Enders main enemy. Peter is Enders brother who wants to kill him and his sister, Valentine. He is Enders worst fear too, because he is the only enemy Ender could not overcome. The good guys are Ender and Valentine. Valentine is the person Ender trusts most, and he loves her, not just because she is his sister, but because she is the only one who was nice to him. Ender is small, a seven year old, but the fate of the existence of human-kind rests on his shoulders. He is manipulated, lied to, attacked, broken down, betrayed, and hated. He is being hurt in many ways by many people or things. The buggers, an alien race is attacking earth, and almost wiping out humanity. This all takes place in the future, but the humans have not moved from earth, as you would have imagined. The buggers are not angry or jealous of the humans, but merely consider them as we consider insects, unimportant. As Ender goes through school, he is constantly manipulated. Even at the final battle, he doesn't know that he is fighting a real fight.
