English class was focused around writing this year. This meant that I had to compose several essays. They were not all essays, but writing them felt like a long end of the term paper. It was a struggle getting myself to write so much. While doing that I learned new writing methods, personal difficulties, and what I learned overall from this experience. There are several writing styles/methods that are common, but during this year I was introduced to the CASPA method. I had never in my life heard of that in a writing environment. I tried looking it up online, but helplessly could not find anything about a CASPA. I found making CASPAs to be very annoying. Although, I find several other writing methods annoying as well. After the CASPA came the SSD. For the longest time I was so confused on what an SSD was. I tried researching it, but came out with nothing helpful. I’ve tried to write for fun, but always end up giving up after the word “the.” In a way writing in itself is a personal writing difficulty. Mechanical difficulties would be the basics of spelling, grammar, and sentence structure. For grammar it would be my word choice because I am not the best at choosing the right word for its intended purpose. Writing a CASPA brought my word choice and sentence structure to a real test. Integrating a certain aspect of the CASPA without making it sound confusing or unnatural was a personal difficulty. A plaguing personal difficulty was my lack of motivation to write.
