I love to write, and it is my opinion that students should already have the ability to write a professional paper when entering college. When I saw that one of my courses was English Composition 1, I felt it might be a waste of my time to practice something I thought I knew. Although, I did not want this feeling to stop me from giving full attention to my assignments, and as with everything I do, I gave it a hundred percent. I am glad I did, because I did not realize I would learn so much from Professor Chapman about writing APA style and proper citation. I now know this course was an essential step in my learning process, and I will be using what I learned here for the remainder of my time at Full Sail University, and throughout my career as an internet marketer. …show more content…
I am confident when I write, which can make it seem like an easy task. Though, after learning how to use APA style and professionally cite sources used for writing, “easy” is no longer a word I will use to describe English Composition. Upon completion of this class, I feel more capable of giving credit to sources I use when writing, which I believe is a matter of integrity and professionalism. Learning proper citation, accompanied by instructor and peer feedback, helped me tremendously in the revision process of my essay. Using APA style for citing sources is a challenge that I faced up to the last revision of my essay, but I think my perseverance in making sure each item was given credit came through in my final version. Another writing skill I was able to hone and utilize in the final draft of my essay was creating strong transitions from one paragraph to the next. Using the suggestions Professor Chapman gave me in her feedback, I reworked the transitions, giving the entire essay better
