In addition to economic prosperity and hero’s creating a bigger sense of optimism, the American people still had a thirst for entertainment. Movies and plays were becoming a new sensation as it allowed people to escape the realities of their live, giving them a notion of freedom.

Some of the first movies to ever primer was Walt Disney’s Steamboat Willie and the film, The Jazz Singer. The attendance to films was uncountable during the 1920’s. However, filmmakers were not the only ones receiving attention.

Playwriting and music composing also became a new sensation during this era. The most popular would have to be Eugene O’ Neill’s play, The Hairy Ape and George Gershwin’s music that merged classical with jazz. All of these aspects of entertainment
