Perseus The Better Hero
Both Perseus and Theseus are known for being some of the greatest epic hero for their qualities and characteristics.For someone to be a epic hero they need to have some of these traits, super strength, loyalty, a love for danger, faces enormous obstacles and is of a kind of noble birth. Both Perseus and Theseus have these examples of what an epic hero is and what they need to be. They both had a superior human strength, they are loyal to the people they care about, as well as have a love for danger, and while also being of noble birth. But of these two the greater epic hero of the two would be Perseus.

Perseus is the greater hero of the two because his quest wasn't just for a chance to show off his super strength or his noble birth, but to prove himself and show his loyalty to mother. The loyalty he had to his mother is shown in that he went on a dangerous quest that would have killed anyone else who would have tried to do the same thing” no man unaided could kill Medusa”(Hamilton 201). He had to go to many different places before he actually got to finding where the gorgons were at. He first went to the spirit of Delphi and then he traveled to the gray eyed sisters to find out where they were hidden at. After this he traveled to more places and then finally slayed Medusa, but as he came home everything wasn't right there since he had been gone.
