The book I am reading is Enrique’s Journey by Sonia Nazario. I predict that the author will explore the human rights issue of Immigration Laws and the plight of illegal aliens in the United States. I believe that this issue will be important in the story because Enrique the main character in the story is very driven to find his mother who has gone herself illegally to the United States to earn money to provide an education for her children and to better the life of her family. I made this prediction because Lourdes leaves her children in Honduras as she goes to make money in the United States and her son Enrique is left saying “Donde esta mi mami?” “Where is my mom?”
Estevan is a trained English teacher but is working nights at a restaurant to make money since he can not get a real job because he is an illegal immigrant. They also have very little possessions in their name compared to how normal families live. This is shown when Estevan and Esperanza are leaving with Taylor to go to a safe house in Oklahoma. “Estevan and Esperanza had one suitcase between them and it was smaller then mine... I had packed for a week, ten days at the outside, and they were packed for the rest of their lives.”
In The House on Mango Street written by Sandra Cisneros, the dominant theme for these collection of vignettes is the dreams and beauty expressed throughout the book using poetic devices. For instance, Esperanza grasps onto the dream of having her own house as she remains discontented with the house on Mango Street. On page 5, she stated, “I knew then I had to have a house. This is the main idea of the book, Esperanza Rising. Hi Kimberly, I appreciate how genuinely you stated that it is very difficult to address all the issues in Maria 's story. The issue of immigration is complex and it generates a multitude of events. It is for this reasons that topics such as the health care and the immigration are the still on the debates table of elections for the last decades. Merjona

Humanities Essay: The Aztecs The Aztecs or Mexica as they called themselves, weren’t originally from the Valley of Mexico, many people migrated from the north. As history states the people migrated because of a great drought in northern Mexico and southwestern United States. After two centuries of migration, around 1200 AD the Aztecs started to form their foundation in the Valley of Mexico, and that was the start of one of the most mightest civilization.
