There are many things that separate Florida Gulf Coast University from the other schools in Florida, but just like at any school, there are those key places that every individual student loves in its own. Diversity is definitely one word that can describe a University, the fact that there are so many different kinds of people throughout Florida Gulf Coast University makes each persons’ favorite place on campus an interesting topic to discuss. Florida Gulf Coast University is one of the top schools in Florida and there is no question there, but, what exactly makes it so great? The North Lake Village waterfront provides a serene, quiet setting (most of the time) where many students enjoy to get their studying done. Emilio Escandon, a freshman here at Florida Gulf Coast University, said that his “studies are very important, and sometimes it is nice to be able to study somewhere other than my room or the library”. Escandon stated that “the water front is an awesome place to study because the fact you are basically on the beach makes you completely forget you are at school”. He recently spent four hours studying there and did not even realize how fast the time went by. Escandon told me about the time that he was really stressed about his math test. “This math test would make or break my grade, and I really needed to study. I honestly could not focus in my room, so I went to the waterfront. It was a nice day with no one in sight so I sat down on a bench and did my math homework.” Escandon said that he got a B on his math test and he felt the reason he did so well was because of “how relaxed he was while studying”. There is nothing like going to the waterfront and spending the day soaking up the sun while getting an amazing education at the same
