Over the years, alternative testing methods has evolved that replaces the need for animals in labs such as in vitro testing. Cell cultures are now being evaluated in petri dishes; producing more relevant results because human cells are being used rather than animal cells. Ninety-two percent of the drugs that are effective and safe for animals fail in human clinical trials because they either result in being too dangerous or they just don’t work (“Should Animals be Tested for Scientific or Commercial Testing?”). Not only does animal testing result in being cruel and inhumane, it also results in inaccurate results for humans. The Animal Welfare (AWA) act isn’t obeyed in many testings. The AWA requires that base principles of care and treatment must be …show more content…
Animals aren’t getting the adequate care they need due to their owners not taking them to the vet because they are unable to afford the treatments. However necessary animal testing helps us improve the medical field and find cures, it can also be very inhumane towards the animals. Excessive and unnecessary testing brings in more business for the veterinarians without the owners knowing what is occuring while their animals are at the vet, along with paying more money for unknown treatments. No human or animals on this earth should be having random experiments done on them without knowing the outcome, living in very bad conditions for years or having certain things forced in their systems. Animals have rights just like humans do, if it is illegal to take random unnecessary tests on humans there is no explanation to test animals when there is no need. Even if animals are different, they are still in full effect and can be harmed physically and mentally over something that is
