Animals and humans react differently to types of drugs and chemicals. Cats, dogs, guinea pigs, hamsters, birds, etc. are the type of animals being manipulated. Animal Ethics- Pro Animal Research There is a large number of people who would disagree with the statement that “Animal testing is very beneficial” but what these people don’t realize is that without animal testing we wouldn’t have all the medical advancements that we have today. Animal testing has made a huge impact on our daily lives and will affect our future to come. According to Alec Baldwin, “One cannot be ‘single issue’ when it comes to medical research.” Baldwin’s mother is apart of the Breast Cancer Research Fund, she stated that “This year, approximately 182,800 women in the United States will be diagnosed with invasive breast cancer, and approximately 40,800 women will die from breast cancer.”
Do you love animals and hate for them to get hurt? Well if so this is a topic that is very concerning and it is why I believe that it is not okay to do animal testing. There are many reasons why we should not test on animals, and here are a few of them. It cost an enormous amount of money, animals can get injured or killed, and animals are not exactly like us.
Animal research has often been a controversial issue with animal activists and scientists, placing them on opposite ends of the spectrum at times. The ethics alone have placed a burden on the biomedical community with outrage at the procedures animals have undergone. Animals are killed, injected with fatal diseases, gone without food to test physiological responses and much more at the detriment of the animal’s physical and emotional state. There are some people who do not respect or even acknowledge basic animal rights. Rabbits, rats, mice, and many more innocent animals are toyed with by scientist playing God and I believe that there's no justification for these heinous acts. Animals should not be sacrificed for unnecessary human desires.
In this 21st century society, scientific research raises the question of ethics. One of these major issues would be the topic of animal testing. Many believe that animal testing is an awful way of measuring the effectiveness of cosmetics and cures for deadly diseases, but without it scientists would not have been able to find cures for diseases like Parkinson’s disease, malaria, smallpox and many other illnesses. Though it has cured countless diseases, lobbyists and protesters still find animal testing as cruel and immoral, questioning the morality of the scientists who do this. Animal testing has been a moral issue among Americans for many years, and even today, the United States is still at about sixty eight percent of those who do support this testing. This number is down from 2008, where about seventy five percent claimed to support animal testing, which shows a change in our moral stance on the issue. But is this bandwagon the right one to support? Animal testing has continuously been proven to be more humane than ever before, so not only are protecting the safety of humans, we are making strides in supporting the safety of the animals in general. It also provides insight into diseases and helps scientists develop and test potential treatments, and furthers advances our knowledge and scientific understanding.

Without a doubt, the advancement in the medical field in the current generation is truly remarkable. It has come a long way as many cures have been developed in order to treat complex illnesses. Besides that, the advancement of modern medication has brought a great advantage to not only human beings but also to other living creatures such as animals and plants. The question that many wonder would be how are these medications developed? It certainly is a complex set of procedure to develop treatments for any kind of diseases, let alone a targeted sickness.
Jeff Flake, an United States Senator wrote for the Waste book, stated, “...Over $7.3 million of taxpayers ' money was wasted on studies involving animals in 2016.” Animal testing, also known as animal researching, animal research is the use of animals in experiments that help us find cures and test products to see if they are safe or not. Not testing animals will not help us get cured and test results. Animals testing should not be used because of cures, cruelty, and costs. It has been stated that animals should be used in researching and testing because they cure us.
Should animals be suffering just because humans are trying to advance our medical techniques? Should they be forced to eat? Should people be allowed to torture them this way? Do you think so? Imagine an enraged animal rights activist charging toward a scientist in a white lab coat, desperate to free the little mice that are being used as test subjects. Although comical, this scene may be quite accurate when describing the passion that animal lovers have when it comes to the touchy subject of animal testing. Millions of animals are killed per year due to animal testing, so is this practice worth banning? Animal experimentation has been going on for over 300 years and this is just what has been recorded in records. There are many types of test performed on animals:Draize Test: A laboratory test in which a cosmetic or drug is dropped into a rabbit 's eyes, which are held open with clips, to determine the level of irritation.
