“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms [of government] those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny”(Thomas Jefferson). The United States Constitution was written in 1787. It consists of amendments,these are rules that give each individual certain legal rights, the Constitution also has articles that describe rules the government has to abide by which keeps from tyranny in United States of America.The U.S Constitution is constantly used for research by judges to provide Americans with fairness in trial. The Constitution safeguards Americans from tyranny proven by Amendment 1, 4 and 19.
Amendment 1 known as the Freedom of Religion, Speech and Press, is a large reason how it keeps tyranny from happening in the United States. This Amendment states, “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof, or abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, or the right of the people peaceably to assemble and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.” This Amendment is used in several court cases since people can speak freely, the court can not use that against them, for example recently a high school students protested: “About 100 students took part in the protest…The message is for cops to ease up …show more content…

Women in USA are able to become equal and vote unlike other countries where women have no rights: “ Saudi Arabia and Vatican City: Women can’t vote... still. This is amazingly the case in Saudi Arabia, though a royal decree, issued in 2011... Vatican City is the only other country that allows men, but not women, to vote”(Washington Post). This is cruel towards women, so the 19th Amendments keeps from tyranny in United States. Other countries that do not allow women to vote or have rights has cruel and oppressive
