Imagine being accused for something you didn’t do. Imagine having a friend go against you. Imagine one minute your life is on track the next minute everything is messed up. Imagine having a good friend die. Imagine being in jail while the rest of your family and friends are out living their lives. This is Adnan Syed’s case. He has been in jail since 1999 and is still in jail up to this day December 22, 2016. Adnan Syed who was convicted of murdering Hae Min Lee, his ex girlfriend in 1999, should be released from jail due to the fact there is not enough evidence. One reason why Adnan is innocent is that he was an easy target to be a suspect. “He tried to remain a faithful Muslim all his life but he fell in love with me which is a great sin. …show more content…
“What makes more sense? That a little seventeen year old, never been in trouble with the law Adnan killed someone or that Ronald Lee Moore, rapist and murderer who got out of prison thirteen days before Hae disappeared, that he killed someone?” (Koenig, ‘What We Know’). If you think about it this shows that they need to test the DNA and have more evidence because they can’t rule out Ronald. “He was arrested a month later in Louisiana for burglary” (Koenig, ‘What We Know’). This shows that while he was out of jail he committed a crime so who’s to say that he didn’t commit the crime of murder by killing Hae Min Lee. “What we know is that Hae had her clothes on, although I know her shirt and bra had been moved up, Enright told …show more content…
“So, that’s pretty crappy luck that you loaned this guy, who ends up pointing the finger at you for the murder that you loaned him your car and cell phone the day your ex-girlfriend goes missing” (Koenig, ‘What We Know’). This is just one of the many reason why fingers have been pointed at Adnan. The car was his and the phone which makes all the call that Jay Wilds made and wherever Jay took the car points back to Adnan. “Then the next piece of bad luck is the Nisha call. I mean, even if the Nisha call could potentially be a butt dial, in the realm of possibility, maybe it was a butt dial, but what are the chances?” (Koenig, ‘What We Know’). Adnan is the only person to know Nisha that doesn’t mean that Jay could have dialed her number from the recent calls. Adnan could have told Jay about Nisha. “The the last thing that I think really sucks for him if he’s innocent is that Jay’s story and the cell phone records match up from about six o’clock to about eight o’clock which is when Jay is saying you are burying the body, and that’s the time of the day you just have no memory of where you were” (Koenig, ‘What We Know’). The reason he has no memory of it is because it was most likely just a normal day. Would you remember what you were doing 5 years ago on a certain day? All of these reasons show that Adnan has had a
