Introduction I. A textbook is a collection of the knowledge, concepts and principles of selected topic or course. II. Usually written by one or more teachers, college professors or education experts who are authorities in a specific field III. Students can get benefit from using the textbook for learning purpose A. Ease the student to find the reliable information for their homework and assignments. B. Provide structure for student’s learning as each chapter has a logical flow. IV. As our technology has been developed, textbooks have seen as not relevant in this millennium era. V. Nowadays people more preferred to read and study from the e-book or internet that they can easily access from electronic devices such as notebook computer, tablets and even from their smart phones. b. Based on article “E-books as textbooks in the classroom.” (2012), it stated that electronic devices is lighter than printed textbook and it can reduce the risk from getting damage effects such as lower back pain, poor posture, spinal deformity over time and also back problems in adulthood. 2. Besides from lighter than printed textbooks, tablets also can hold hundreds of books in one place, have the ability to expand memory to hold more information and cheaper than the textbooks. a. Students can read the notes in their e-book from their tablets or even in their smartphone everywhere. B. Ease the students to find related information and complete their assignments faster. 1. Information in the electronic devices is more updated than in the textbook. 2. With the help from the developing technology, now the publishers and teachers were able to update the contents easily, quickly and more up to date information. 3. The students can easily access the internet to get the up to date information without wasting any more money for new
