Civil rights became a large part of the African American agenda, in attempt to end racial discrimination in the workforce, at the polls, and in political office. Throughout the years, the movement of the African American civil rights began to change. The change was for a better America and everyone else. As time went by African Americans gained power throughout society and economics rights, finally became equal. The goals of the African American civil rights movement was equal opportunity in America achieved through non-violence.
Before the civil rights came along things were generally horrible.Blacks had no rights to do anything, and no freedom. They had blacks attend different schools, use different water fountains. They were treated so poorly, and as if they were animals. During this time, in the 1960’s, African americans did not have the right to vote, and they were fed up with it and started to act upon it.African Americans started to have boycott their way into equality . They created riots, sit-ins , marches and speeches. They did not get what they wanted at first,many times they were stopped by cops and were not allowed to boycott or make more riots. I have a dream today.” He inspired so many people to give out equality. He wished everyone would look at the content of their character instead of the color of their skin. He wished people would look outside the box instead of judging by skin color. So many people looked up to him and let freedom speak.Everyone should be equal and voted as brothers and
