The Age Of Responsibility “Today military personnel returning for Iraq and Afghanistan are left to question why they can fight America's wars but still can’t patronize in its bars” (Alan Greenblatt) They’re many mixed signals on what’s an age of responsibility. These mixed signals come from laws of states or of the local government. While scientist says a person's brain doesn’t develop fully until the age of 25. Ultimately at 18-year-olds, people can start working and providing for themselves, thus, the age of adulthood should stay at 18. Common sense seems to dictate that we should leave the age of adulthood at 18. For example, another article by Alan Greenblatt its states, “18 you can vote, you can join the army, you can sign contracts and you’re paying bills with your name too.” This means adolescents get to do all these stuff at 18 but if the government raises the age of adulthood 18-year-olds won’t be able to.
