The story All Summer in a Day takes place in a futuristic world. Humans are now living on the planet Venus, where their sun only comes out every nine years. The story follows a girl named Margot and her classmates, all around nine in age. I had the advantage of reading the story and seeing the movie and could see many comparisons in each version. So far, the movie offers a more visionary range while the essay leaves only to the imagination; The storyline, characters, and Margot are all different in one form or another.
(2) In the essay, the storyline was not sincere than the movie. (5) When the children shove Margot into the closet, they do not feel guilty, they have a "wicked smile". (3) Kindly, at the end of the movie, Margot gets let out of the closet but sadly misses the sun, as in what happens in the essay. The students bully Margot and are cruel to her difference of have lived on Earth. (4) Seeing the movie, Margot and her classmates have a closer relationship, which makes the film more interesting, though she is still bullied by them because of her difference of living on Earth and have seen the sun. (5) Since Margot in the essay does not have any friends, she is considered an outcast by her fellow classmate William, but in the film, William is an outcast sort of. (1) Margot in the story had bright blue eyes, golden hair, and a tan skin, since she was on Venus, she dramatically lost all color in her face, which worried her parents. (7) Worried about Margot, her parents considered moving back to Earth so she could be happy again. Margot in the film had brownish hair and no blue eyes but was very pale.
