“With great power comes great responsibility,” ( Lee & Ditko 11) Being president is like being a superhero, you get power, but a lot of responsibility. That’s why, as president I would aim to, provide enough clean water for the U.S. help the U.S. economy while doing it.

As of recent, America’s been having a lot of problems having to do with water, but as president, the first one I would focus on would be the drought in California. California grows more than a third of the nation's vegetables, and roughly two thirds of our nuts and fruits.(California Department of Food and Agriculture) With that much of the U.S.’s food depending on California’s agriculture, we need to be sure to take of California’s agricultural economy. A lot of farmers are getting only five percent of the water they need (Mieszkowski)! And because of this they’re having to get rid of their trees and plants because they can’t afford to water them (Mieszkowski). There has been such an agricultural loss, that the cost of vegetables is expected to raise three percent in the coming year, and the cost for fruit is expected to raise six percent (Mieszkowski). A lot of money being lost to this drought, as of right now one hundred and seventy one hundred workers are expected to be laid off this year do to the major decrease in profit for farmers (Mieszkowski). This drought is being caused by global warming (Mieszkowski). The Earth is heating up that means we as a nation are going to have to start dealing with droughts more often in other states.This is why in order to avoid a lack of food, and learn to cope better with droughts and the havoc they cause the economy, I as a president would work to first and foremost help take care of this
