A dental hygienist cleans teeth, examine patients for signs of oral disease. They also educate patients on ways to improve maintaining good oral health. They work side by side with a dentist. Dental hygienists use a variety of tools to clean and polish teeth, such as scrapers, ultrasonic power and laser devices. Dental hygienist are very positive people, they also have a good salary, have many places to choose work. (Source #3)

In high school, to help become a dental hygienist, you will need to take biology, chemistry, algebra, english, health occupations/medical professions education, geometry, psychology, computer skills, physical education, and speech. Some careers related to a dental hygienist are sales representative, product researchers, corporate educators, corporate administrators, dental nurse, and a dental assistant. Sales representative is someone who sells a product or products to a business or customer. Product researcher is a person who provides information about the product. Corporate educator is a system of activities to educate employees. Corporate administrators are people who play a role in hiring someone. Dental nurse is a dental assistant basically just getting small task that need to be done. Dental assistant provides automatic first aid alongside a dentist. ( Source #2)

There is a good, bad and ugly to being a dental hygienist. The good is great job, great salary, great boss and staff makes a great life. The bad is as years go on it does not matter how experienced you are, you still get paid just as much as a dental hygienist who just started working. The ugly is you cannot push products on your patients that you would recommend, you have to vaguely discuss, you cannot have a specific product recommendation that is the dentist job. (Source
