Emotions are used everyday, and affect your life. Sometimes it can be very difficult to figure out what emotion someone is feeling, but in Romeo and Juliet it is shown clearly what emotions the characters are feeling. Romeo and Juliet experience some emotions in the play like Love, Excitement, and fear. These emotions show throughout the play through the characters actions and words.

Everyone shows emotions differently, but typically excitement is shown the same way throughout the play of Romeo and Juliet. One way that excitement is shown is through Paris, when Lord Capulet allows him to marry his daughter. The Capulet family wants Juliet to get married to Paris, but little do they know that Romeo and Juliet were already married, they wanted the Friar to marry Paris to Juliet. Since Romeo decides to go to the ball, this triggered his fight in fight or flight. Not only does Romeo feel fear but so does Juliet. Juliet feels fearful when she is about to drink the potion that friar Laurence gave her to appear dead. After her mother wishes her goodnight, Juliet then says “What if this mixture do not work at all? Shall I be married then to-morrow morning?” (IV.III.22-23) Juliet first fears that the potion will not work at all, if the potion does not work she will kill herself. A second fear she has is that Friar Laurence poisoned her because he already married her and Romeo. Those are just some of the many fears that she thought about before she drank the
