Examining ISIS
What do our families, our communities, our country, and our world all have in common? Take a moment to think long and hard about it. The common factor between all those things is that they all face the same problem; that problem is the Islamic State. The Islamic State, better known as ISIS, is a force against the world that must be stopped. Yes, you may argue that ISIS does not directly challenge us in our homes; this is true, but they still pose a threat to anyone who does not drop to their knees, praise Allah, and immediately declare their practice of military jihad. The jihadist terror group’s roots were in al-Qaeda, though they were forced to cut all ties to the group. This gives you a good idea as to how harrowing the Islamic State is. They were kicked out of al-Qaeda, the most widely known terror group of the past decade! We must examine ISIS’ structure and customs in order to defeat them. First off, we must answer the following question: what exactly is jihad? Most Americans are somewhat familiar with the term and relate it to ISIS, but do not know what it is. America’s military outnumbers ISIS 2,220,412 to roughly 20,000 to 30,000. We have the manpower alone to end the Islamic State’s uprising. They will eventually extend their terrorism to the United States; we must end their rebellion before this has a chance of happening. The U.S. is strong enough to carry out and finish a rollback in the Middle East. However, for this to be successful, it would require most of our manpower and resources. Upwards of 500,000 to 1,000,000 men would be needed to end ISIS quickly, but it would be possible. It looks at this point as though we will be going to another war, so we should commit troops to this effort soon.
