A women who had over 30 operations becomes famous for her effective and interesting paintings. Frida Kahlo’s life was a sad mystery. Besides the 30 operations, she broke her back for a long year. After her heart broke down of living lonely, having no school, no sports, and having nothing to do while recovering her back, she eventually began painting. Frida’s painting were mostly frightening and deadly. Even though she was born in Mexico, she moved to the US later on. After staying away from home a very long period, she became homesick. As Frida had been in the united states for 3 years, she was uncertain about her feelings towards the USA. As aforementioned she was homesick living in the US a long time and to express the transition in her life, she painted the painting with her standing on the border between the two countries. One way Frida expressed her loyalty towards Mexico is by painting the building in different ways. The Mexican side showed a religious temple, that Frida is connected to. But on the US side, she prefered to not show interesting US historical buildings but instead she showed smoky factories, with polluted air and dark colors. Another way she showed her loyalty is by painting the Mexico side with attractive colors whereas the US side with messy dark colors. The other way she expressed her feelings is by the different types of lands. The mexican side is looking natural with soil. However the US side is crowded by electrical equipments. The strongest evidence in the painting is that Frida is holding a Mexican flag in her hand. Through the painting it is evidential that living in a new world for over 3 years did not change Frida’s loyalty towards
