Healthcare System of Hawaii Throughout America there is a plethora of different types of healthcare systems that vary from state to state. Healthcare is extremely important to every citizen and can play a major role in everyone's life. Healthcare helps people with the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of their ailments whether it be physical or mental. While each state does have health care they are also unique in their own way. Some states have a better healthcare system others which can greatly affect the health of their citizens. Hawaii, also known as the “Aloha State”, is located in the pacific ocean and is the last state to become a part of the United States. It became a state on August 21, 1959. Prior to becoming a state it was actually its own nation. Hawaii is ranked 43rd out of the 50 states in total area and 40th in total population at a population of 1,428,557. In comparison to the rest of America it has the fewest local governments and also lacks a municipal government.
