As a final point, since there’s so many health disparities within the community, I’d like to construct a media campaign that not only educates the LGBT community, but the entire world. I want this campaign to help those in need who suffer from these health disparities and viewers to become educated on the subject matters at hand. In my opinion, it’s critical to help promote my intervention. Substance abuse, obesity, HIV/ AIDS, and depression is one of many health disparities that’s rarely being discussed, specifically for the LGBT community. I want to make it clear that no one is different from anyone else. Heterosexuals are not immune to getting health disparities that are similar to homosexuals. For example, by supporting the policy changes to lower food prices can benefit them as well. Every bit of information listed above should help with the advancements of societal acceptance of the LGBT, new generations are brought up internalizing less homophobic beliefs, and a decrease in the health disparities within the communities. I hope viewers get inspired to help and do something to change not only their future, but the world we live in. High rates of substance abuse, obesity, HIV/ AIDS, and depression are the health issues that I’d like to potentially decrease in my health promotion intervention. I feel like the world has a long ways to go to understand other groups and not just their own.
